May 2017 Newsletter
/May has arrived, and with it comes plenty of games to play and things to do! Check out what we have in store for you this month:
- The Spring 2017 Gamer's Market has rolled around again, so get ready to join us on May 28th! Be sure to come by and browse the selection of gently used board games, miniatures, RPGs, and accessories brought to you by local gamers! Interested in Vending? Head to the Gamer's Market tab and submit a Vendor's agreement today!
- Love role-playing but want a break from the hack and slash? Come in May 13th for a free role-playing event and take on the role of an esteemed and boastful member of the 18th century elite in The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Munchausen! Participants share ridiculous stories of their fantastic (and absolutely, completely 100% true) exploits, trying to trip each other up along the way. The best story-telling wins the game!
- Interested in the new Runewars Miniature Game? Bring a friend to pair up and learn to play in this casual, relaxed event on May 20th! Players will pair off and split a copy of RuneWars (or get their own) to then put their armies to the test. Complete three scenarios to earn alternate art promos and Skirmish setup cards!
- Star Wars Destiny players, May the 4th be with you, and be sure you’re here with us on Star Wars Day for the Spirit of Rebellion Launch Party! You’ll get nine packs of the new set to build a deck and compete, as well as a participation promo to everyone and a pack per match win! After you get your hands on some of the new cards, be here May 27th to test them out in our first constructed tournament with the new set legal!
- If that isn’t enough Star Wars in your life, our X-Wing Wave Ten tournament is May 6th! It's absolutely free, and we'll be handing out promos to every player. Plus, first place will walk away with a small to medium-base ship of their choice! Get in formation!
- Our Age of Sigmar Escalation League may be over, but we're sending it off in style with a Blowout Tournament on May 13th! Run it back with your 1200 point army in three rounds of Swiss and see how you stack up against the competition at full power! This matched play tournament will be free for league members, and use Vanguard rules for army composition.
- Magic players, it’s a busy month in nearly every format for you! May 6th is our Team Unified Modern tournament, where you and two friends team up to take down the competition! The first place team will take home 3x Tarmogoyf, 3x Karn Liberated, and 3x Goblin Guide, while a box of Modern Masters 2017 is going to second and a box of Amonkhet each to third and fourth.
- Next up are our competitive and casual Amonkhet Game Days on May 20th and 21st, where you can get full-art promos for attendance and another foil full-art for top 8, as well as a shot at the Game Day Champion Playmat for the overall winner!
- That’s not all for Magic this month! Join us for our monthly Legacy Playtest Challenge on Sunday, May 28th! Bring a deck with any number of playtest cards and duke it out Legacy style! Store credit is awarded to top finishers with a bonus for buying cards to remove playtest cards from your deck.
- Guild Ball players, are you ready to prove your worth on the pitch? Bring your strongest and fastest to the field on May 27th and show the world yours is the best Guild Ball team around! Whether you're just here to play ball or you like to fight dirty, grab your dice and your favorite guild, and join us to battle it out for glory!
- Yu-Gi-Oh! players, are you ready to get your hands on a few packs from the newest set, Maximum Crisis? How about an entire box? This is your chance to show you are the top duelist, so get your deck ready and compete on Sunday, May 7th to win a full box of Maximum Crisis!
- Our next Game of Thrones Chapter Pack Tournament is coming up May 27th! Only $5 to enter, and first place walks away with the newest chapter pack for free, with store credit going out to top players based on attendance. Join us as we battle it out for the next chapter pack, Guarding the Realm!
