It's time to sleeve up those Sol Rings and get ready to duke it out at Monday Night Commander! Pick your playstyle and join pod that fits you: Casual (Bracket 2 & 3), High-Power (Bracket 4), or Competitive (CEDH).

Monday Night Commander will use the official Commander banlist linked here:
https://magic.wizards.com/en/banned-restricted-list

Entry is $5 regardless of your preferred playstyle, and we’ve recently changed up the structure of Monday Night Commander. Here’s the breakdown on what’s new:

Pick Your Playstyle!

CEDH & Bracket 4 will work similar to before. $5 is put into the prize pool per player in the pod, and the winner of the pod will get the full amount in store credit. There's no holds barred in these pods, so bring your best decks and be ready to throw down!

Brackets 2 & 3 are now “Casual Commander.” Players can now either pick their pod or be assigned to a random one, their choice! We’ll make sure everyone has a group to play with, so players who chose their pod may be asked to accommodate and welcome other players. There is no more store credit prizing for Casual Commander, but we’ll be hosting lots of raffles & giveaways to make showing up exciting each week!

Prizing

CEDH & Bracket 4 will be winner-take all for store credit in those pods, and the winners of these pods will also be included in the Winner Raffles at the end of the night, which includes a foil promo pack and a promo card giveaway!

Casual Commander players will get to take part in the following raffles:

  • Two play boosters of the most recent set will be raffled in each pod

  • Two giveaways of 1 promo pack each will take place across all casual players

  • One promo card giveaway across all casual players

  • One box of sleeves ($15 or less value) giveaway across all casual players

Regardless of playstyle, the first winner from each pod will be included in two raffles at the end of the night. The winners will each have a chance to win a foil promo pack and an additional promo card!

Companion App & Bracket System

In order to see what the best pod for your deck is, refer to the most recent update on the Commander Brackets system at https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/commander-brackets-beta-update-october-21-2025.
If you are playing in the Casual Pods, we highly encourage a Rule Zero conversation using the bracket system to try to match power level with your opponents.

All Magic events will require entry using the email attached to your Wizards Account. Optionally, it is even easier to join by downloading the MTG Companion app, where you can also view pairings, report match results, and more. Read more below:
