Battle for control of the Twisted Reach and secure victory for your teammates at our Maelstrom event series!
We'll be hosting three narrative events for Warhammer 40k themed around the recently released Maelstrom lore, the second of which will be on April 18th at 12pm. Players will choose a team when signing up, and can fight to earn points for their team at any of our Maelstrom events. The story will be impacted by which team secures victory at each event.
Each event will be one round, and the format for this event will be 2000pt, three-player battles. In the event of an uneven number of players, some tables may instead play a 2v2 match. The winning team of each event will earn store credit based on the number of participants. We'll also have additional prizing after the conclusion of the event series for the team with the most points through the entire Maelstrom campaign.
The teams you can sign up for are the Gatebreakers, Desecrators, and the Marauders. The Gatebreakers are fighting to secure a path through the Maelstrom that can be used to bring resources and glory to their factions. The Desecrators believe the Maw is home to untold treasure, and they will be the ones to claim the great prize. The Marauders are the piratical residents of the Dread Reach, seeking to destroy all outsiders who seek to lay claim to what is theirs.
Here's a glimpse at the story of the second event:
With the pyrrhic victory of the Gatebreakers and the first major battle of Nadirus: 234 freshly concluded, the forces of the Marauders and the newly-reinforced Desecrators join together to break the hastily-built fortifications. The alliance is shallow, however, as one wrong step could lead to an all-out skirmish once again.
Please note that while you may sign up for any team, some players will likely be asked to switch teams closer to the time of the event in order to ensure team sizes are even.
We will have a cap of 12 players for this event. Register on our web store: https://shoptoptiergaming.com/Maelstrom-Event-40k
