up to 35 cards now, 10 new ones added. hope to have the rulebook to explain the new mechanics of the set and other odds and ends by friday. look forward to seeing a promo card being included with each update after this one. they're all the way at the bottom past the URs.
featured card of the latest update ![]() Namekian Wrist Defense 30 1* Q- Piccolo 9/26 Combat D* Namekian Heritage only. Stop any attack. This card costs 2 power stages to use. Lower your opponent's anger by 1. Remove after use. Limit 8. This update's card is simple, yet effective. I like to take kinda decent cards and rebuild them into different styles, you do see that alot in the way I write cards, this one takes the Black Defensive Aura card to Namekian. First you'll notice it's limited to Namekians only, so Piccolo and Lord Slug will probably be the only ones using this, occasionaly you might see Dende or Moori using it, but in this set they're only Allies. Up next it's a stop all that costs 2 stages, decent, and as was needed to fill up a styled deck for Namekian when it first came out, this also has the (in)famous Limit of 8 copies. Rounding it out is that it gets removed, most Namekian cards do not remove themselves, unless they're uber awesome. Speaking on the graphics side, Namekian, IS THE DAMN HARDEST KANJI SYMBOL TO GET! I had to get someone redraw this symbol from hand. This one and Orange kept me from completing the set, for about an additional 2-3 weeks. >.> That's all for this update. If you have 4 or more level 1 Allies in play, this attack does +3 life cards of damage. here we have a harkening, is that a word?, back to the original GS set. mainly designed as a villain superset, it was to include all the bad guys that also did not get any love in the Lost Villains subset. mainly the movie guys, espciially since they got passed over during Cosmic Anthology. <-Dr. Willow, really? Slug Merc, or ""S. "Murder Murder" Merc."" as he likes to be called, is your standard low-brow level 1 ally. weak power levels, weak PUR, half-decent effects. when you get a few of these together, they're a bit to work against, as like Saibaimen, and ""C. "Chop Chop" Guard"" , they can have up to 4 copies of themselves in your deck and in play at the same time. when 4 of these guys come together their personality power becomes a regular energy attack, x4. they werent much in the show as even chi-chi took one or two of 'em out, but when they gang up on you... ![]() Android Mechanization Drill 61 3* Q- Meta-Cooler 8/16 Non-Combat When Your MP performs an attack, they may pay 1 power stage to have that attack gain "Android" in the title. Our card this update is a freestyled drill that lets you make any attack android "styled". At a cost of course. A measly 1 power stage and your Android Duo's constant Combat power actually has a use. Pretty much sole existence of this card is due to that personality needing Android "styled" cards. Or you could mix it in a Android 17 deck using the Level X from Approaching Darkness. With The Car or That Ugly van in play, your "android styled" attacks do +3 power stages and +1 life card of damage There will be a few more Android empowering cards and then it'll finally die. Just 1 more subset dealing with Cell and the Androids after Green Darkness( releasing just after we wrap this up) which is the subset for this set, and we Free The Future. On the graphics side, this is one of my favorite frames from Return of (Meta-)Cooler. By this tiem I felt like I knew what I was doing with the title resizing, looking back, I still have no clue how to get it to look good, lol. Fun fact, I originally purchased a bootleg VHS copy of Return of Cooler for $5 from a kid at middle school. My friend borrowed it and havent seen it since. it's cool, I got all all the funimation DVD seasons from him now, and he takes forever to come get his stuff. -------------------- |

A project that's been in the works since Approaching Darkness ended. That subset is currently wasting away without a template, I have a few ideas, but still need someone to take the lead with it. So, if you think you have what it takes, check out this file, Green Request ZIP File and email what you've done with them to me by way of toptiergaming.com ON TO OUR CARD!!! ![]() Blue Anger Control Drill 73 3* Q- Trunks 5/8 Non-Combat When you perform an attack that raises your anger, instead of gaining that anger you may have the attack do +2 power stages of damage instead. Limit 1. (End:2 This update's card is a Blue Drill that lets you increase an attack's strength just for not gaining anger. NIFTY! Quite simply, as the card reads, instead of gaining anger from a secondary effect of an attack when it is performed, the attack does +2 stages of damage. This drill is also one of the lucky few that has endurance giving it extra purpose. This card was almost a Rare but I decided to scale back the modifier from your choice of 3 power stages or 2 life cards to just 2 power stages. On the graphics side, the Blue style Kanji was the first to be finalized, even if I never really used it in any sneak peaks, it was always ready to go when the rest of the template was. Instead of going all special over drills which include about, 20, if that, cards, I chose to stick with the "X2 trial" template design. Which is used for about everything but personality cards. I didn't feel I had enough creativity in me to make unique templates for Masteries and Sensei and Drills. Also of note, the mini-drill symbol. In the right spot, just smaller. Oh yeah, that image on it? KICK-AZZAMER. Works with the power as Trunks used his anger over losing Gohan to become more powerful. Decks this may be useful in: Cooler Blue Physical Beats Odd use for the card: Stalling yourself on a level. It happens, we all know it, we finally get to that awesome level 2 of our MP set, only to raise our anger by measley little 1 to go to level 3 and be shafted with an effect that prevents all but 2 stages from a physical attack. So, by using this card you can choose to gain the anger or not, and stay at 0 or 1 for that other Blue Drill in this update to prevent your opponent from using Endurance. -------------------- |

this update's card is a location/battlground type. and boy is it a suckerpunch. also of note, we're at 110 cards, and 4 promos, after our next update, we'll be showing off some of the starter deck MP cards! ![]() Geti Star's Central Core 94 3* Q- Meta-Cooler 10/16 Battleground When you use an even numbered card that is limited to 1 copy, remove the top 2 cards of your Life Deck. When you use an odd numbered card that is limited to 1 copy, remove the bottom 2 cards of your Life Deck. ever get the feeling that your opponent is better because of their special limit 1 copy per deck cards? ever wish that you could slap them in the face whenever they use one? NOW YOU CAN! While duking it out inside the central core of the [Big] Geti Star, your opponent gets sapped for 2 life cards whenever they use one, but where those life cards come from is determined by the odd or even numbered nature of the card. Of course, you'll be hit by it as well, so, is it worth the 2 life to use a Tiawt or a FA? How bout that Lob? Most definitely so in every case. This card really just creates a minute mill effect but it's real punch is a distraction to your opponent, you know that no matter what you're gonna use your limit 1 cards, but your opponent that's counting his life deck might hesitate a moment too long and forget their strategy. Since the card isn't designed to start in a Sensei Deck, you kinda have to hope it will be useful in your everyday strategy of your deck, not as a sidenote. Graphically speaking, the Location/Battleground cards were some of the hardest to design around, I knew alot of mine had long-winded effects, and getting them to be properly seen was a challenge. Espicially when you limit the size of the power box to the size of your headshot bar. I did keep the title and everything else in the same spot, giving the image more prominence. Gohan. ![]() Quit Hittin' Ya Self 121 3* Q- Cyclopian Guard 6/6 Physical Combat S* (When you perform this attack you may choose to perform it against yourself and then may defend against it.) Physical attack doing +2 power stages of damage. So what we got here is one of those funny cards. a card that lets you do something abstract, and well, odd. Attack yourself to lower your stages, take life cards for ball repositioning, to use a defense effect(Tiawt?), maybe even an if successful effect that was added to it by another card. many possible uses. of course if you do perform it and target yourself, your opponent does not get to defend, so, there goes his chance to Counter, <-there's another use, creating a Counter Chain. Not much else to say on the matter. god willing you dont use it to kill yourself in a finals match... Most interesting use in my playtesting session: I hit myself with this card to do a few life cards of damage, had a ball in the pile, used an effect to draw that ball to my hand. my friend suggested we build a "welcome back kotter" deck utilizing "other world" to pull all the allies out of the dis that we discard with it. <-After seeing a sneako-peeko of the Princess Snake personality set of course. Honorable mentions...almost wrote the reviews on these, but DIDN'T cause I felt talking about "Quit" was more interesting. They're still good to point out of course. Saiyan Bruising Drill 129 3* Q- Bardock 10/17 Non-Combat When your opponent discards a Non-Combat card as a life card of damage, discard the top card of their Life Deck. (End:2 Ahh Saiyan, i love saiyan, can always add some random goofy drill to it just to tack on extra damage. This one is no different by letting you mill 1 life card whenever your opponent discards a non-combat card as a life card of damage. Drill decks beware. Red Rage Drill 128 3* Q- Future Gohan 15/19 Non-Combat As long as your anger is not 0 or 1, prevent 1 power stage and 1 life card of damage from your opponent's attacks. You may have multiple copies of this Drill in play at the same time. And of course, the theme for red was prevention/anger contortion and as such we have things like this were you prevent a stage and a life card as long as you have 1 or none anger. And you can multiply it's effect by playing multiple copies. Cooool. -------------------- |

Updated to : 170, A majority of the starter MPs are up now. still a few to go. we'll get a few of the rares uploaded next time, and, since i like alot of my rares for this set, instead of doing a single card or 3 at a time, i want you folks to do the reviews on the rares. do as many as you want, do them all, do only 1, fact is im only going to review the PROMO cards and the MASTERY cards, and each of the Ultra Rare cards from here on out. CARD OF THE UPDATE ![]() New Namek P7 2* Q- Moori Location Place the top 2 cards of your discard pile at the bottom of your Life Deck instead of 1 during the Rejuvenation Step. Your MP gains 1 power stage for every styled card you rejuvenate. two cards instead of 1 when you rejuvenate, holy poopers. of course your foe gets the effect too, but if your playing a form of discard pile removal it wont matter. i had no real use for this card in playtesting, so casual play or special play where locations are restricted to a certain one such as the idea for the league style play of PLANETARY DUELS are where you're gonna see the use for this guy. ![]() ![]() ![]() just an idea... planetary duels ~ instead of players using a location or battleground from their deck, 1 random location/battleground card is chosen to be in play at the beginning of every 4th turn. -------------------- |

The Ultra Rares, the last World Tournement promos(if you haven't seen Shenron yet, you may want to take a look), Alternate Art Hi-tech cards, and a bit of wrap up of the set. One thing you cans till help with is a template for the Green Darkness Subset and for the next set, still aptly named "Saiyan2", which will be used for the preview cards in this set. So, check back here sometime later this week to catch the exciting conclusion of, Dragon ball Z, CCG, Galactic Struggle. CARDs OF THE UPDATE ![]() Namekian Style Mastery 223 5* Q- Namekian 1/1 Mastery When a card effect raises your MP to their highest power stage, shuffle your discard pile and then shuffle the top card of your discard pile in to your Life Deck. Namekian here is extra rejuvenation when a card raises your MP to the top power stage. Simple, effective, and somewhat useful in a limited enviroment. Namekian did fall short on my expectations, but it was harder since I could not give overpowered cards as often. ![]() Orange Style Mastery 227 5* Q- Trunks 7/8 Mastery Your opponent cannot prevent damage from your focused attacks. When you perform a final physical attack, it is focused. Your MP's PUR is +1. Orange on the other hand, is all about Focused. The big draw here is raising your MP's PUR by 1 and making your final physical attack a focused attack, suck it, TIAWT. Though burning through prevention and if im not mistaken, endurance, is pretty epic too. Designed more as an open enviroment constructed mastery. ![]() Saiyan Elbow Jab P10 2* Q- Bardock Energy Combat S* Physical attack doing X power stages of damage. X = double your MP's printed PUR. Damage from this attack cannot be prevented. Remove after use. (End:1 Anti:NAM Which brings us to this guy, another of my favorite images on this guy. All about beats baby. Saiyan finds the power for its attacks in all sorts of ways, in this set you see quite a few interesting examples. Here we're using the PUR of your MP to be the attack's "base damage". MINI NON-UPDATE UPLOAD. Well, since i won't be updating the last cards until ,? I thought I'd share a few things, one being the set of Alternate Art Hitechs personality cards, and few random facts about the set. ~~ There is no "Freestyle Mastery". Closest is "Blank Style Mastery." There are no level 5 personality cards. There are 2 Level X personality cards which can be used as Level 5's. There were a total of 3 template designers not counting me. (the eventual final template designer) The first cards written were actually from the set of 10 10 promo card sets. 10 sets with 10 cards each. Technically they're reprints. The only personality card that didn't make the cut, was for a set of Chi-Chi cards. (also the first to be permanently deleted) The Geti Star promo card was going to be a location until the wording of it's ailities became too difficult to write correctly. The Red Style Mastery card has my third favorite image for the set on it, and is my least favorite Mastery. The decision to split Cooler and Meta-Cooler into sepearetly named cards but still the same personality set(he was just Cooler) came well after all the images were chosen. Thus leading to a random image search of decent Meta-Cooler shots to use as level 3/hi-tech/level 4/Level x. The only card saved from this set to be used in a future set will probably not be released. There was one card changed due to someone's uproar. Red Style Mastery Red Style Mastery 238 5* Q- Piccolo 25/26 Mastery When entering Combat, you may remove the top card of your Life Deck from the game. If that card was a Red Styled card, prevent 3 power stages of damage from your opponent's attacks until Combat ends, otherwise prevent 1 power stage of damage from your opponent's attacks until Combat ends. Another mastery designed to be weak and really only utilized in a sealed enviroment, Red is about preventing damage, only power stages and only by milling yourself for 1 life card. 242. Saiyan Style Mastery Saiyan Style Mastery 242 5* Q- Goku 34/34 Mastery Oncer per Combat, discard a card from your hand to perform a physical attack doing +2 power stages of damage. If that card was a Saiyan Styled card, then the attack does +4 power stages of damage instead. At the end of Combat, your MP gains 2 power stages. Chuck a card to throw a physical, the attack does extra damage if it was a saiyan card. Simple, effective, makes your weak and useless drills turn into attacks or allies reminescent of Slug. 247. Blank Style Mastery Blank Style Mastery 247 6* Q- Meta-Cooler 16/16 Mastery (This card can be used as the Mastery for any Tokui-Waza.) When entering Combat, choose one of the following for this Mastery to gain until Combat ends, "Your Styled attacks do +Z power stages of damage. The only specialness this Mastery has is that it can be used for any style, making it the staple FreeStyle Mastery but yet, more of a Rainbow Mastery. does this hint at the possibility of mixing styles or anything of the sort? 248. An odd contribution was pulling off the "future gohan is stronger without trunks thing". So when an ally is gone but not forgotten you get extra defense. Not declaring a tokui-waza with it also nets you 1 anger, why? Its a built in abuse control thing. Thats all that needs to be shared. someoen in playtesting suggested we try somethign entirely different. i smacked him upside the head with a book on child psychology. 250. Gohan, kick butt attack, can be used as a Counter under certain conditions, and afterwards the loc/bat in play does nothing to you, and IS A LEVEL X! also 12 power stages. hotness. P11. The Big Geti Star The Big Geti Star P11 (do not change number) 2* Q- Meta-Cooler Combat S* Attach to the current Battleground or Location card in play. While attached, the current Battleground or Location card has a blank power box. Discard when your MP reaches an anger level of 5 or higher. Already released as an alternate art card back when I started this, The Big Geti Star is a Combat card that attaches to any loc/bat and makes it do nothing. Discards itself if your MP becomes, "too powerful" , ala meta-cooler and goku/vegeta's interaction. ~~~~~~~ I just wanted to let you guys know, since my friends kept asking me about the image on Left Leg Stretch.
